Liberty Shooting Camps
Nowhere but at Hillsdale’s Liberty Shooting Camps can one find exceptional, practical firearms training, combined with educational talks by Hillsdale faculty and the fellowship of like-minded participants. Ladies for Liberty and Couples for Liberty are among the camps offered each year. Through these popular and innovative programs, participants ages 21 or older experience hands-on instruction in handgun, shotgun, rifle, and archery at the John Anthony Halter Shooting Sports Education Center. Shooters of all experience levels—even those with no experience—are welcome. Training progresses from basic principles to more advanced applications. During evenings, guests hear lectures by Hillsdale College faculty on a variety of topics related to American liberty, including the liberal arts, the U.S. Constitution, and free-market economics. Participants enjoy catered meals and comfortable accommodations at the Dow Hotel on Hillsdale’s campus. These four-day camps take place during the summer.
Community Engagement
Residents of Hillsdale County and the surrounding area have in their midst one of the nation’s finest comprehensive shooting sports facilities. The Halter Center invites local residents to participate in the various leagues, open shoots, membership programs, and clinics offered at the Center. For a truly unique experience, the Halter Center can be rented for private or corporate day-outings and retreats.
