Matt Little

Range Manager

I have been a member of the National Sporting Clays Association for over 30 years and have shot competitively for much of that time. I ran the Brooklyn Sportsman’s Club and was on their Board of Directors for eleven years and served as vice president for nine years. In 2020, I joined the Michigan Sporting Clays Association’s Board of Directors, and in 2022, I was elected president of the Michigan Sporting Clays Association.

Meet the Team

Welcome to our shooting center, where precision meets passion and expertise. Our team comprises dedicated individuals who bring a wealth of experience and knowledge to ensure a safe and enjoyable shooting experience for all. Leading our team is our experienced range master, Matt Little, who oversees operations and ensures adherence to safety protocols at all times. Alongside them, our skilled instructors provide personalized guidance and instruction, catering to shooters of all skill levels. Supporting the smooth functioning of our facility, our friendly staff members are always on hand to assist with equipment rentals, ammunition purchases, and any other needs our visitors may have. Together, we are committed to fostering a welcoming and supportive environment for enthusiasts and newcomers alike, where the thrill of the shot is matched only by the camaraderie of our team.

McLain Driver

Membership and Site Coordinator and Coach of the Hillsdale Academy Shotgun TeamMcLain Driver

McLain Driver is the membership and site coordinator of the Halter Center, and he also teaches pistol and range safety classes. A 2017 Hillsdale College graduate, McLain holds membership in the United States Practical Shooting Association (USPSA), is a USPSA certified range officer, and has several NRA certifications as well.
Jordan Hintz

Shotgun Team Head CoachJordan Hintz

A 2018 Hillsdale College graduate, Jordan Hintz serves as head coach of the shotgun team and teaches shotgun classes at the Halter Center. As a student, Jordan was a member of Hillsdale’s shotgun team and was honored as a five-time ACUI Team High Overall National Champion and a three-time ACUI All-American. He is a member of the Scholastic Clay Target Program and the National Sporting Clays Association.
Adam Burlew

Action Shooting Team Head CoachAdam Burlew

Adam Burlew is the head coach of Hillsdale College’s action shooting team and also serves as the Ailes Range supervisor. A law enforcement officer since 2011, he holds many certifications, among them NRA certifications for teaching firearms safety in the home, pistol, rifle, and shotgun classes. He is also certified to teach Patriot Defense Training Pistol 1, Carbine 1, and Shotgun 1 classes. He received the Top Gun Award at Center Mass Inc. for Firearms Instructor School, Designated Marksman School, and Red Dot Instructor School.

Assistant Program Development and Competition ManagerCaitlin Conner Royer

Caitlin Conner Royer is a seven-time International Shooting Sports Federation World Cup Silver Medalist, an eight-time medalist in the USA National Championships, and she has been a part of many prestigious teams and accumulated many outstanding awards throughout her shooting career. She honed her skills as a resident athlete at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Caitlin holds a bachelor’s degree from Louisiana State University and two master’s degrees from DeVry University. She works as the assistant program development and competition manager at the Halter Center.

Program Development and competition Manager Dale Royer

Dale Royer is the program development and competition manager at the Halter Center. A 12-time winner of Montana state titles in high school shooting sports, Dale went on to compete on many U.S. teams and win national awards in shotgun, including a national and Junior Olympic championship in men’s trap and an individual gold in the Junior World Cup. He trained at the Olympic Training Center as a resident athlete in Colorado Springs, where he also earned a bachelor’s degree in economics at the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs.

Halter Center Staff Aeriel Skinner

California native Aeriel Skinner joined the Halter Center staff to assist with range maintenance and instructing Junior Olympic Development Camps and other training events for both youth and adults. Immersed in the clay target sports of Sporting Clays, Trap, and Five-Stand in high school, Aeriel went on to compete in Trap and Skeet at the University of Arizona, where she earned a degree in psychology. She has represented the USA in 19 International events in 14 different countries, winning three individual medals and seven team medals. She continues to train at the Halter Center in support of her Olympic dream.
