High School

Liberty and Learning Youth Conference

Held in June and July, the program is designed to introduce high school students to the shooting sports. In fact, many attendees have never used a firearm prior to the camp. During the four-day event, individuals learn about gun safety, shotgun, and archery.

High School Shotgun Team Development

The Halter Center works closely with the U.S. High School Clay Target Program to promote shooting programs at schools in the region. Reading High School in Reading, MI, was the first institution to start a team through this effort.

To continue the growth of the shooting sports, the Halter Center hosts a coaches conference in January to help develop and grow programs. Once enough schools have teams, the center’s goal is to be the home of a high school clay target league.
